How We Teach and Learn

Our approach to teaching and learning is grounded in research and best practice. We use:

  • Evidence-based strategies – Including Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction, cognitive science insights, and metacognition techniques to support effective learning.

  • Dialogic & co-operative learning – Encouraging discussion, collaboration, and critical thinking through oracy and co-operative learning to help students articulate their ideas and learn from one another.

  • A reading-rich curriculum – Placing literacy at the heart of learning to develop strong communication and reading skills across all subjects.

Beyond the Classroom

We believe that learning extends beyond academic achievement. Our curriculum includes PSHE & RSE, personal development, self and community awareness and a focus on healthy minds and bodies.
