Vision, Values and Ethos

Each day provides opportunity for positive change

Our Vision

At Alkerden Church of England All-through Academy, we are ready to serve our community and to work with our young people to enable them to enjoy life in all its fullness. The establishment of Alkerden  Academy is underpinned by the Christian ethos of inclusion and hope; this extends to those of all faiths and none. We seek to discover universal truths which unite us all, cause us to celebrate change and diversity, and honour the uniqueness of each person. Alkerden is more than its facilities, lessons, and qualifications; it is a place of safety and growth that instils hope in the lives of the young people, the staff, and the wider local community. Much like Ebbsfleet Garden City, Alkerden Academy is a new and exciting place where each day, each lesson, and each experience should be an event of special significance. This thinking grows from the idea of ‘Kairos’, which means ‘a moment of opportunity’.

Equality Objectives

Our Trust’s overarching Equality Objectives help Saint George’s to be an inclusive school where we focus on the well-being and progress of every child and where all members of our community are of equal worth. These are:

  • To use performance to monitor student achievement and respond to variations between groups of learners, subjects, courses, key stages, trends over time, and comparisons with other schools.

  • To provide professional development which continues to support staff to promote equality and diversity routinely in their daily activity.

  • To provide an environment that welcomes, protects and respects diverse people.

  • To ensure that all students are allowed to contribute positively to the school's life.

  • Foster ownership amongst our students for developing a set of positive behaviours that reflect the very best in all cultures, but reaffirm the understanding of and compliance with the rule of British law and British Values.

  • To address cultural events through yearly worship activities to increase student awareness and understanding of issues in different communities.
